Request Domain Transfer

Transferring your domain name is actually not as simple as it sounds. There are many factors that can negatively impact your business.

Here are four things to consider before transferring your domain:

DNS Settings
By default, the DNS (Domain Name Server) settings for your domain are set to NS1.MarketLeader.com and NS2.MarketLeader.com. For your Market Leader domain and system to function correctly, it's imperative that these setting not be changed.

Renewing Your Domain
Once your domain is transferred to you for ownership, you will be responsible for renewing your domain with your web hosting company (e.g. GoDaddy) on a yearly basis.-----

Domain Records
In addition to DNS settings, it's imperative that you not change the following settings on your domain: C-name, A-name, TXT, and MX records. Doing so will adversely impact the functionality of your Market Leader website.

Domain Forwarding
Once your domain is transferred, it's important that you not forward this domain to another unique domain. Doing so will prevent you from being able to access your Market Leader system.

Exceptions:

We are unable to transfer domain ownership under the following circumstances:
1) The domain in question was purchased by Market Leader within the last 60 days, per ICANN policy.
2) There is an outstanding balance on your Market Leader account.

Directions:

Fill out the form on this page to initiate the process and authorize the processing fee (which will not be charged until we receive the domain transfer request from the registrar). Then, follow the steps to transfer a domain with the domain registrar (either GoDaddy or Wild West Domains). Instructions to identify the registrar and start the paperwork to transfer a domain can be found on the following page: http://learn.marketleader.com/display/help/Transfer+Your+Website+Name.

Once you complete the domain transfer request with the domain registrar, the registrar will notify us so we can unlock the domain and help you complete the process.
